Meet Dan Thiesing: Your New Strength and Conditioning Coach at Champions

Writer: ChampionsChampions

Hello everyone! My name is Dan Thiesing, and I’m excited to be a part

of the Champions Team, and to introduce myself to all the athletes and

families here. As a strength and conditioning coach, my goal is to help

athletes reach their full potential, and I can’t wait to get started with you!

My Background

I’m originally from Boston, MA and spent my entire life in the

Northeast before just recently moving down to Charlotte. I attended

Merrimack College in North Andover, MA where I earned both my

bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Exercise Science. Growing up, I

played every sport I could, but being from the Northeast, hockey was

ingrained in me from the start—I was learning to skate as soon as I

could walk! I ended up played high-level baseball and hockey, and from

an early age, I knew I wanted to build a career centered around helping

athletes excel.

My Experience as a Strength Coach

For the past seven years, I have worked with thousands of athletes across

all ages and levels—from youth sports to Collegiate, Professional, and

even a few Olympic athletes. One thing I’ve learned is that training is a

crucial part of athletic development. Many athletes and parents worry

about training in-season, but with the right coach and program,

monitoring volume and intensity properly, it’s not only possible but

beneficial for long-term success.

My Coaching Approach

I don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” training program. Every athlete is

different, and my job is to meet you where you are and build a program

that enhances your strengths while addressing your weaknesses. My

training philosophy is rooted in competition—both with others and

yourself. I track metrics and progress so that every session is an

opportunity to push forward and improve.

At the end of the day, it’s all about intent and intensity. If you’re

showing up and putting in the work with the right mindset, results will

follow.

More Than Just Training

For me, being a strength coach isn’t just a job—it’s my life. If someone

asked me what I’d do if I couldn’t be a strength coach, I’d find some

way to make up a scenario to stay in sports performance because this is

who I am. I’m all in, all the time, constantly striving to deliver the best

possible training experience for my athletes.

But this isn’t just about building stronger, faster, more explosive

athletes—it’s about developing habits and discipline that carry over into

life. My goal is to help my athletes not only reach the next level in their

sport but also become better humans in the process.

If any of this resonated with you and you’re ready to commit to your

development, let’s get to work! Feel free to reach out via email or shoot

me a DM on Instagram so we can start training as soon as possible.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!
